me amo colombia.

don't believe what they say.  colombia is one of the best countries on earth!

popayan
a quaint little city.  you can take a short walk up to the mirador and have a nice view of the city.  make sure if you end up here that you eat at the restaurant 'la viña'.  ate the best meal of my life there.

chillin'.

grapes.  so many grapes.

he is a natural.  next enrique iglesias.
fun fact:  did you know that the last name iglesias means 'churches'.

everyday.

view of the city.

liberator.

cartagena
a famous pit stop for cruise ships, this coastal colombian city has a carribean flavour that is prevalent in the cuisine and the culture.  although i would have to say, this place was ridiculously over priced.  thank you upper middle class for making my life so much more expensive.  i'm boycotting cruises.  though i will most likely change my mind when i turn 40.

obama ruined my vacation.  wanna know how?  well, i spend lots of money to stay in this beautiful city and because of YOU OBAMA, everything goes into lock down.
yeah yeah yeah i was here when that secret service / hooker thing happened.
THANKS AMERICA.

barry.  relieving me of my vacation woes.

chicken fried rice.

a pirate museum!

the first ladies get to ride carriages around.

cue the steel drums.

tayrona national park
once a peaceful paradise for the tayrona people, now it is full with backpacker's tents and towels.  not that that is a bad thing.  the tayrona people were all wiped out.  so more land for us.  yay.
about a two hour trek through the jungles, the goal is to make it to the beach at the end of the rainbow.

jungle ants.  do not mess.

why so blue crab?

fav.

cute. :)

salento
one of the best places on earth.  here i stayed on a coffee plantation and indulged in fresh breakfasts and delicious coffee all day long.  BEST.  i really wish i could've stayed there longer.

wut?!

no occupado!

shmleh.

it's me!

postcard shot.

awwwww!

soooo delicioussssssss.

also delicioussss.

barry wants to sell you life insurance.

try crossing ten of these.  i swore those wires are BARBWIRE.

humming bird sanctuary.

wax palm trees.

leticia
not my favourite place, but hey.  right on the southern tip of colombia, it was a 10 minute walk to brazil, and a 5 minute boat ride to peru.  it was a great jumping point for amazon adventures.  here we took a boat down the amazon river.

i don't know what these are.
